Direct instruction as well as embedded curriculum that reinforces the 5 core competencies lays a foundation for students to obtain and maintain self worth. Each unique individual has their own lens through which they see the world. Each of us deserve to be seen and heard.

When we ask teachers to build community we are really saying "listen." Listen, be curious, follow up. Do that for them and teach them how to do that for each other.
Learning how to celebrate another's success instead of stooping to jealousy
showing empathy for someones loss ~
these are the most important life lessons we can teach.
Restorative practices allow students to build their resilience, emotional literacy and regulation skills.
When trust is broken we have the opportunity to restore faith in ourselves.
Restorative practices create a healthy space for learning to take accountability for ones actions and accepting proportionate consequences with grace.
